The actress, who was a former cover model lives with her family in Beverly Hills with her dogs Samantha and Olivia (above left). Ann Turkel's ex-husband Richard Harris has passed away after only 8 years of marriage and 20 years of divorce. Turkel was born in the midst of a Jewish family and was raised through her maternal grandmother in Manhattan. At the age of 16, she was in the midst of studying with Sanford Meisner and Philip Burton in the Neighborhood playhouse and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. It took Ann Turkel nearly 40 years to admit that she and Richard Harris have never got along. Richard Harris played the part of Albus Dumbledore, the wizard in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001 (also made available under the title Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone) and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002. Ann Turkel, who is famous throughout the world for her success in the fields of television, film as well as business, has enjoyed an interesting and varied career. Ann was born and raised within Manhattan. Her talent for entertainment has not diminished. Ann started taking dance classes in the age of five and her studies in the arts continued through the college. She credits the encouragement that she received from her mother. Ann started her formal schooling by studying acting, singing and dancing. At the age of sixteen, Ann had studied at the Musical Theatre Academy and the Neighborhood Playhouse with some of the most prominent acting coaches around the city, including Sandy Meisner and Philip Burton. Ann began singing at the age of 16 along with fellow students, and then began forming an ensemble. Also, she performed in a season of summer stock stage in the Berkshire Playhouse in Stockbridge, Massachusetts with plays such as The Pajama Game" and West Side Story. The moment she performed with her group at an evening of fashion shows that Ann was found through Gloria Schiff an editor at Vogue Magazine. Diana Vreeland, the editor-in-chief of Vogue Magazine has Ann along with photographer Richard Avedon shoot Ann's first Vogue cover in a matter of several days. In the following weeks, Ann became one of the most sought after models in America, landing on the cover of some of the most prestigious fashion magazines like Vogue Bazaar and Cosmopolitan among several other publications. Ann was a successful model throughout Europe, Japan and other international markets for about two years. Ann was the face of cosmetics giants such as Max Factor Revlon or Chanel.
